Have You Read/Tell A Story Today ?

I enjoy telstory telling, kids, imagination, creativityling story to my kids. Whether it is right before bed time or on the way to the school while I am driving. I prefer to tell it spontaneously. Spontaneous story telling let my creativity and imagination run wild.

In that way, I can use my imagination, my creativity and any possible words that I can think of to make up my story. There was once i make up a story about a Giant, that came out of nowhere, encompany my kids to supermarket for shopping ! When I was telling my kids this story, I was holding my younger boy, Jasper - 1 year old and acting out the story scene with some actions and movement. It was fun and they enjoy it a lot ! We laughed through out the whole session & my eldest Justin like it very much too !

My kids are my source of inspiration for story telling and they inspire me to expand my imagination & creativity. Not only in story telling but in making my own songs as well. I have made some kids songs based on things that they have shared with me and they enjoyed it too ! Frog, ducklings, bees, butterfly, during bathing time, sometimes we share some funny jokes as well and just burst out laughing !

When We Talk About Moderation In Yoga

Yesterday while I waiting for the traffic turn to green light on my way home, I managed to read through a short interview article from Yoga Journal Jan/Feb magazine issue that I subscribed monthly. It's about Bikram(Hot) Yoga founder, Bikram Choudhur. The writer has asked about his view of life, bikram yoga and his living style. I was inspired by some of his saying :

  • We can make this world heaven if all the childs learn yoga
  • You know why so many people hate each other ? No self-Realization ! (quite straight to the point)
(quoted from Yoga Journal Jan/Feb, yj intervew section by Diana Anderson)

Surprisingly although he is a yogi but he is living in luxurious, wearing branded watch worth $50 k in USD, driving B
entleys and 35 Rolls-Royces and staying in Beverly Hills in United State ! I was puzzled.

So i google from the internet and found another interview article on him.
I guess you should read it if you are a yogi or practising yoga. Go & have a read ! I am sure you will amuze by the way he answered each every questions threw by the interviewer. Some might feel not comfortable at all with his reply. But let respect each individual right to express his own thoughts and don't ever feel offense by his saying.

Well, I guess even though yoga do have code of life, Yamas & Niyamas(from Pantajali Eight Fold Path), but it will be up to the individual to adapt it to his/her life. Nothing is fix or must obey, and if it is then it become rules that must follow. But yoga is definitely not law nor rules.

I think
Bikram Choudhur is smart enough to play around the 'rules' of karma yoga, since he is teaching people looking after their health through bikram yoga and I believe many people do have benefit from his teaching. So he just enjoying the fruits of his deed or good doing. That's karma.

"
I take care of people like I am their own father and
mother. That's a key to my success. I take care of people, and they
take care of me. That's yoga. "

I myself not quite agree with some his teaching and philosophy, it is just too open. When you assimilate 'East' and 'West' teaching in this way, that's the result that we see from him. Not acceptable for me at all.

But some of his philosophy or saying really impressed me (of course those inspired one). And definitely can give me some insight into my future path. Namaste !

Are You Seeing The World As 'WE' or 'ME' ?

nature wonders, spirituality, self-realization, self-discovery, yoga, life
It's just an alphabet different, but the meanings bewtween these 2 words are quite a difference. Are you a 'WE' person or 'ME' person ? i guess this will be the good question to start off this writing. I came across this interesting topic when i was listening to a podcast from Heaven's Lounge II : Soaring Above The Clouds. The music from the lounge very relaxing and I really like it much. Close your eyes and find your inner peace. Relax and let you mind fly. Enjoy the musical journey. It is an experience you will always remember. Be prepared to experience love, sadness, wonder, desire and hope..... let all worries begone.

I was really touched by the words and questions in the lyrics for music track starting at 2:10 min.

Here's are part of the lyrics i managed to captured :

Simple as it may be
We can walk the street
Full of you and full of me
And still feel you capture inside

With who you want to be
You feel to be what you feel to be
The you and you and I and I
I am me, with you and we are we
.............................
(This is my favourite part :))
When you look out, what do you see ?
Do you see we
Do you see human part of we
I wonder what you see
...........................
I am I you are you
And you and me are we

I guess you have to listen to the music yourself then you will only understand why I like it so much..

Have you ever wonder why you are born ? Have you ever wonder why the world exist ? Why you angry and happy sometimes ? Why I feeling So Low Today ? I have these questions flashing through my mind also all the time. You might wondering why the questions keep focusing on 'ME' myself, rather than others ? You know I like the saying that
'The World Actually Is Within You'. We all living and staying together in the same planet. I do believe there's an energy field between each every object. The energy field is something like 'Yin' and 'Yang', can be negative or positive energy. It is affecting things that happens around us and each one of us contribute to this energy pool. From these smaller energies , it brings up to bigger energy field that control the whole universe. So that where comes the contribution part, where although we exist as an individual, but 'ME' contribute to that bigger energy field, term as 'WE' field.

In fact 'WE' just a character different than 'ME'. This equation sounds meaningful to me 'WE' = 'ME', how about you ?

The Tree And The Cloud - What I Observe

nature wonders, spirituality, self-realization, self-discovery, yoga, life
One morning I parked my car as usual at train station and walk to the station. It was windy and the morning breeze felt so refreshing. While I wait at the station, standing there wondering will the train late again today, I look up and suddenly I sense something. It is there all the while but I didn’t notice it, the cloud and the coconut tree.

Just opposite the place where I am standing, I gazed over to the other side of the railway trail, and immediately I saw 2 dramatically different presentations. The cloud is moving swiftly across the sky blowing by the wind, but the coconut tree stood firmly and strongly, with its leaves moving slowly and light.

It really touch my heart : I was wondering how come the tree can stood so still but the cloud moved so quickly, blowing by the wind. Both are facing the same nature force ? Does it resemble to our mind ? Suddenly I realized that the tree and the clouds are same as our mind in 2 different states : one is cloudy & the other one is crystal clear and firm.

I keep telling myself that these are all about our mind state. If the mind is clear, firm and strong, no matter what happen you will still stay as you are. Just think of muddy water compare to crystal clear water, which one is giving more sense of purity & trueness ?

Some people are inborn with the ability to realize this but some are not. I guess I am the later one. All the while my mind so clouded and cannot stable down at all. Too many negative thinking & energy accumulated since my brain start absorbing and working.

But I am glad and thankful that finally I realized it. I believe all the goodness definitely will be rolling out along the way.

From there I started to change my thinking on how things work around us. I become more aware of my mind state and how it affect my thinking, and how it affect the response I received from things around me.

As long as I always be optimistic, thinking positively, my mind state will change and everything will occur based on the right energy I send out.

The nature really our best teacher !

Self Discovery & Realization – Taming & Settling The Mind…

mind,spiritual,yoga,self discovery
Man’s mind can describe as wild beast waiting to release from the cage. The moment the cage door open, it will run wild without any direction. I believe each one of us have experience this before. I truly believe one’s mind can drive one’s craziness to the upmost level. Trying to drag it back but it will go farther & you will feel totally lose control of it.
I have been experienced before many times and every time the outcome is much painful.

Through Yoga, I have found a way to settle my mind. Breath, Observe And Let Go.

Almost 10 years I am looking for the answer, the cause of my tire-ness, headache, shoulder pain and neck pain. Finally I found the answer to my questions through yoga. All of these problems are caused by my breathing, not deep enough and my sitting position not in the right manner. My body was just too tense and it blocks my ‘Chi’s flow. I was so fortunate that I know the cause and thanks to those who have help me to find the way.

Then slowly from the observation of the way I breath, I slowly aware of the important of the mind and how it really affect our body and our breath. Unsettled mind will reflect in our breath & our body posture.

Yoga is a way to handle the fluctuation of the mind. It helps you to focus your mind back to where you are now. Most of the time our mind do not synchronize with our body and senses. Your mind is somewhere else when your body and senses are in another place. Yoga is a way to unite the mind, body and senses back to where you belong. Yoga lets you live the moment rather than let it pass away without your full participation or attention.

Once I was a person that never appreciates those great moments life has gave me until I found Yoga. Through Yoga I love myself more, enjoy my life more and started to learn how to appreciate each every moment and don’t take things for granted.

Love Life !

Lost And Found My Crystal Ball - Inner Child

meditation, yoga, self realization
Long time didn’t write on this journal. Well I have to say sorry to myself on this. Life is kind of unpredictable to me. The moment you enjoy the excitement & happiness, not far away from here you can hear the thunder pondering furiously. Life is not always a bed of roses. I have to agree with this age old wisdom. That’s life.

Change does need a lot of perseverance, courage and self awareness and realization. Before change take place, you need to overcome obstacles, especially those in your mind and heart. Now I understand ‘Taming Your Heart/Mind’ means.

Image you are in a crystal ball, the one with snow flakes in it for Christmas time. Just imagine you are in that crystal ball full of snow flakes, you hear nothing from outside. Forget about those house works, chores or people around you. Focus on the space surrounding you and the white snow. You see & hear nothing but your own voice and the soft silky snow flakes flying around. Neither nor warm or cold inside. What you notice ? Your heart is trying to tell you something. Pay attention to your little voice in your heart. It has been there since you were born. Have you ever talk to her and listen closely to her ? Whisper to her softly, she can hear what you say. Let the little voice speak back to you.
I believe in everyone’s heart, stay this little voice or we can name it as Little Inner Child inside. She is waiting for us to discover her presence. But you need to be very patient, and calm as she is quite mischievous and playful. Stay calm and relax, you will find her.

Wish you good luck in finding your ultimate inner child !

Yoga Path - The Discovery Of Truth Of Mind

In order to solve my problem with my mind, I decided to try on meditation and yoga. By chance, one of my ex-colleague passed me a mantra, that I already know for quite some time but not aware of its usefulness. So for the first few days, I tried to chant the mantra everyday when I drive to work. I set a routine for the chanting as well, every night after I put my baby Jasper into sleep, I tried to sit on my bed in lotus position, close my eyes and chant the mantra silently beside my baby’s bed. After some time, I felt something different in my mind. My mind become very calm and the surrounding become very clear and vivid, just like you have just enter this bed room for the first time. It is calm and serene kind of feeling, no ripples in my mind at all. The next day when I woke up, my whole body felt refreshed and new. It is a totally new and wonderful experience for me. This is how I started to do more research on yoga and meditation because I can see the changes it brings to my life…
